All-round software engineer (m/f)

Job description

  • participate in current and future projects for software development and system scripts within the ICT department;
  • autonomously start up or supervise software development projects as part of technical and scientific missions outside the ICT department ;
  • draw up quality software on your own, using common industry standards and company procedures;
  • take over the existing applications in order to maintain, document and support them;
  • provide quality documentation;
  • autonomously analyse new needs and follow up projects as ICT project leader;
  • manage the Service desk requests in your own area of expertise;
  • actively participate in improving the services and quality of company processes supported by ICT.

Required qualifications

As all-round software engineer, you have the following qualifications:

  • master’s degree in Industrial Science, Master’s degree in Computer Science or Master’s degree in Engineering in computer science;
  • a large professional experience in ICT, of which partially as a software developer or in a similar role;
  • good knowledge of and/or experience in several products and concepts listed below:
    • Team Foundation server, Visual studio, .Net framework;
    • C#, C++, XAML, WPF, VB6, VB.Net, VBA, Python, PowerShell, ANSI SQL (Queries & stored procedures);
    • development for Linux and mini-computers such as Raspberry Pi;
    • interfacing with all sorts of equipment (USB, RS485, industrial Ethernet);
    • agile software development.
  • experience with functional and technical analyses and in project management;
  • sense of initiative, independence, sense of organisation, having an analytical and thematic mind;
  • being able to settle into new environments on a flexible and efficient way;
  • being creative, efficient and assertive;
  • good communication skills, orally as well as in writing;
  • adapted knowledge of English, Dutch and French.
